Review: Alienated by Melissa Landers

Title: Alienated
Author: Melissa Landers
Series: Alienated (#1)
Publisher: Disney Hyperion
Rating: 5/5 Stars

Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

Source: I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book whatsoever; it's my true opinion only.

First of all, let's just take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of this cover. It is GORGEOUS! It definitely catches the eye and makes you want to read it (well, that's what it did to me anyway!)

Alienated is a story about humans and aliens co-existing together. I thought this was an interesting concept and lured me into diving through the pages.
I LOVED the idea of aliens existing and alien romance? Duh! Of course I want that!
I wish there were more books with aliens/alien romance in.

I adored the beginning as we were straight into the story. No dilly-dallying around. I was like "Yes! Give me more!"

Cara is intelligent, witty and I really liked her character.

Aelyx is the alien you just want to strip naked meet. He is adorable and I loved being introduced to him and getting to know him more.

Tori is Cara's best friend. I got annoyed at her for something she did that I won't mention for spoiling reasons.

The novel is written in a third person narrative. That way we get to see what the main characters are all up to.

In the book there are a couploe of shockers which made it interesting.

The ending is good and now I demand for the next book to be in my life!

I frickin' found this book amazing and suggest you pick it up and give it a go especially if you love Jennifer L Armentrout's Lux series!!

I gave this book five out of five stars. Well deserved.
