Saved By the Music by Selene Castrovilla Blog Tour!! (Review & Giveaway!!)

Saved By The Music Blog Tour

Title: Saved by the Music
Author: Selene Castrovilla
Publisher: ASD Publishing, LLC
Rating: 4/5 Stars

Synopsis:

The last place fifteen-year-old Willow wants to spend her summer is on a run-down former coffee barge, which her aunt is converting into a floating concert hall. In Saved by the Music, Willow thinks she’s alone until she meets Axel, an older teen who lives isolated from the world on the sailboat docked nearby. An unlikely romance sparks as the two grapple with their darkest secrets and bond through shared pain and laughter. It is a summer where music must do more than just soothe the soul.

My thoughts:

This was a beautiful story involving many things. Rape, abuse, love, friendship & families.
It's one of those stories that gives a message across and makes you appreciate life more. I really like stories like that.
In general the storyline was good, and it's written in first person. The chapters are a nice length as well.
In the beginning we are introduced to the main character Willow. She doesn't want to be at her Aunt's and is finding it a bore. Until (of course) she meets Axel. She ends up becoming awesome friends, and cares about him deeply.
Axel is a fascinating character. He is just amazing in so many ways, but broken inside. He has a history that has ruptured his views and choices on things.
Willow makes Axel appreciate life, and they both make each other a better person. They suit each other so well.
Willow's Aunt is a very chilled out woman and cares for Willow.
The ending made me happy. It was sweet and a perfect ending to the book.
When I first started reading this book, I looked at the front cover and thought it was going to be a predictable book.
The cover itself is sweet and chilled out at the same time.
The dialogue in the story is very realistic, and that connects you with the characters and feel for them in the right places.
And I just really want to say right now: DAMN YOU SELENE FOR THAT INCIDENT NEAR THE END!! My heart was on edge.
All I would say is I found the beginning of the book a little slow, other than that, a fantastic read, and that is why I gave it four stars.

Happy reading =)
